# Add files and data to a presentation

Use relevant source material to improve presentation accuracy and customization.

Provide source material when Decky needs specific facts or context for your presentation.

### Supported file types

You can add PDFs, CSVs, Markdown files, Word documents, text files, Excel workbooks, PowerPoint files, and images.

Supported extensions: `.pdf`, `.csv`, `.md`, `.docx`, `.txt`, `.xlsx`, `.pptx`, `.png`, `.jpg`, `.jpeg`, `.webp`, and `.gif`.

### How to do it

1. Start a new presentation or open the presentation you want to revise.
2. Add files or data that contain relevant customer, product, or business details.
3. Tell Decky how to use the material.
4. Generate the presentation or ask Decky to update the affected slides.
5. Check the result against the source material.

### Tips

* Include only materials relevant to the request.
* Explain which details must appear in the presentation.
* Add current data when facts or metrics matter.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://decky.gitbook.io/decky-docs/plans-billing/add-files-and-data-to-a-presentation.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
